The Town of Elloree has a large variety of businesses, and we work hard to promote and support our local merchants.

Shop Elloree First

The Town encourages our local residents to support local merchants through our “Shop Elloree First” campaign.

Business Association

Several local merchants have taken the initiative to increase business within the Town through the creation of the Elloree Business Association. The Association meets on the second Monday of each month at 6:00pm at the Backstreet Bar and Grill.

Business Licenses

To conduct business within the corporate limits of the Town of Elloree, you must hold a valid town business license.
This applies to both businesses located here in town and businesses that conduct any operations within the town limits, including independent contractors.
 
Business licenses are valid for one year and may be obtained and renewed at Town Hall.

Peddler License
A peddler’s license may be obtained from the Town to allow for vendors who conduct business periodically within town. This license is available at a cost of $100.00 per year and will be
prorated if purchased after the beginning of the business license year. This license may be procured at Town Hall.

Yard Sales
The Town’s yard sale ordinance allows each household to hold two yard sales per year with a valid Yard Sale Permit. Yard Sale permits are good for one day and are available at Town Hall at a cost of $5.00.

In addition, property owners may hold a yard sale without a permit on the day of the Town's annual town-wide yard sale event, Trash to Treasures, held each spring.

Business

Visit the Town Hall or any of our downtown businesses.  Save gas, time, and money by shopping locally where you can find great deals, nice people, and even convenient free parking.

 Our featured business this month is The Elloree Heritage Museum and Cultural Center, located on historic downtown Cleveland Street.  The Museum features an extensive farm wing with a cotton gin and the childhood cabin of Elloree's founder, William J. Snider and is the home of a charming gift shop that offers a variety of items, including "Cottonfields to Golf Courses" items and John Deere toys.

The Museum invites you  to come visit and visit Wednesday thru Saturday, 10AM-5PM.  Tour groups are welcome, and special guided tours are available with prior reservation.  They may be contacted at 803-897-2225 or via
email at  elloreemuseum@ntinet.com. The Museum's website is currently under construction but will be back up soon at www.elloreemuseum.org.
